Kayleigh’s Walk
We are pleased to find out that one of our employees Kayleigh is doing some vital charity work. Here is her story and the amazing charity work she is doing for Thrombosis.
Last summer, our lives changed forever. My sister-in-law Anna was 27 and had just been married for 4 short weeks when she suddenly passed away due to an undiagnosed blood clot in her lung. We were all heartbroken and stunned by the tragic loss of such a beautiful young life.
In honour of Anna’s memory, her family and friends are embarking on a 10 Mile Walk this summer with the goal of raising awareness about the dangers of blood clots as well as money for Thrombosis UK so they can continue their invaluable work researching this deadly condition. To support us in this endeavour, Solent Mobility Centre is kindly hosting a Bake Sale at their premises on Thursday 5th May 2023, during which we will be selling homemade cakes and other treats donated by local businesses who have generously supported us throughout this difficult journey.
The thought that such tragedy could befall someone else without warning terrifies me, but I hope that with everyone’s help we can make sure that no one else must endure what my family experienced last summer. Please join us if you can! Together we can raise awareness about blood clots and save more lives from being taken too soon!

More About Thrombosis
Thrombosis remains a major cause of death in the UK, yet many people have little or no understanding about the causes and effects of thrombosis, and how it can be prevented. Everyone should be aware of thrombosis and the potential life threatening and life changing consequences it can cause. It is important to know the risks, signs, and symptoms of thrombosis. Medical care should include assessing an individual’s risk for thrombosis and discussion on appropriate prevention.
